Rosa van der Velde is a Dutch administrative lawyer specialising in spatial-planning law and environmental law. She advises and litigates for her public-sector and private-sector clients on a variety of administrative law matters, including those interfacing with civil law.

Rosa is mainly active in spatial-planning law, environmental law and related civil-law aspects like land policy and government liability. She prides herself on providing clients practical and workable solutions to complex legal problems. She keeps an eye on the big picture while maintaining a pragmatic approach.

During her law studies, Rosa worked at a law firm, at the Public Prosecution Service and with the judiciary. In addition, she worked at Leiden University. During this time, she acquired knowledge and experience in the areas of general administrative law, spatial planning law, access to information, European law and criminal law.


Rosa graduated from Leiden University with majors in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, European Law (LL.M.) and the Philosophy of Law. In her free time, Rosa does volunteer work at the Sijthoff cultural meeting centre in Leiden and the Forestry Commission (Staatsbosbeheer).
