Maurits is primarily active in environmental law and spatial administrative law, but also works in general administrative law and at the intersection of public and private law.

Maurits completed his Master’s degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law at Leiden University cum laude in May 2024. During his studies, he gained practical experience at two law firms. He then spent a year studying at New York University in the United States, where he focused on American environmental and energy law, as well as international climate law.
