Thomas works in the civil cassation practice. He, moreover, litigates at factual authories for both public and private parties at the full length of private law, for example, in the area of right of ground lease and private law in relation to the public sector.

Thomas studied at Leiden University and completed a master's degree in civil law. During his studies, he worked for several years as an external court clerk at the commercial team of the Court of Appeal of The Hague and gained legal work experience in the legal profession. He later completed an internship at the civil section of the Supreme Court's scientific bureau.

Before making the switch to the legal profession, he worked as a senior court lawyer at the Trade team of the District Court of The Hague and was an external doctoral student at Leiden University.
