Thomas van der Sanden

Thomas is an attorney at Van der Feltz Advocaten. He works in the civil cassation practice and also frequently litigates in lower courts on behalf of public and private parties. His advisory and litigation practice covers the full spectrum of private law, with a particular focus on disputes in the field of public-private law.

Thomas studied civil law at Leiden University. During his studies, he worked for several years as an external clerk with the Commercial Division of the Court of Appeal in The Hague and gained legal work experience in the private sector. He also completed an internship with the civil section of the Scientific Bureau of the Supreme Court. Before transitioning to the legal practice, he worked as a senior court lawyer on the Commercial Law team (preliminary relief and merits sections) at the District Court of The Hague and as an external Ph.D. candidate affiliated with Leiden University.

In addition to his legal practice, Thomas regularly publishes on topics in the field of civil law and civil procedure. He is a member of the editorial board of JBPr (Jurisprudentie Burgerlijk Procesrecht).
